A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely and talented Jessica + Vicki, who own Elbow Room Interiors in Coronado.  After checking out the before and afters on their website, I wish I had a huge house so I could have them redecorate it :)  Check out these stylish and talented ladies...

It's that time of year again... adorable little Caroline was due for a portrait update.  I first met the Foxes last spring when I photographed their sweet family on a friend's farm in St. Charles.  I knew it would be hard to top the adorable-ness of Caroline with bright pink gerber daisies but I think we came pretty close!  Caroline was a little camera-shy at first, but she finally broke out in laughter when she slid off her chair (an antique rocker that her mom, Julie, used as a baby!) and we all started to laugh at her.  I guess laughter is just contagious!  I love the look of pure childhood fascination on her face as dozens of bubbles float by.  And how can you not love that huge grin on her face when her dad tosses her in the air?  Thanks Julie, Dan, and Caroline for an awesome session!  You guys are adorable!  Enjoy...

I'd like to introduce the lovely Ms. Irvin, a talented marriage and family therapist in San Diego.  Alicia runs her own office providing therapy services to individuals, couples, and families.   Therapy Center San Diego has two locations, Point Loma and Pacific Beach.

When I first met Alicia what I noticed immediately is her electric smile.  The kind of smile that just makes you want to smile back.  I was once told by a client that they could see me smiling behind my camera and it made them grin :)

The trendy blonde in these photographs is Gina, the accessory-maker extraordinaire behind Acute Designs, a local Etsy seller.  Gina sells hand made head bands, hair pins, rings, earrings, and shoe clips.  Her design inspiration is vintage, yet trendy at the same time.  And if you're a bride looking for something unique and special for your wedding, she makes custom bridal hair pieces.

Gina is incredibly talented in the kitchen too: she writes a food blog where she shares her own custom recipes, family recipes, and yummy internet finds.  (Gina... I'm awaiting my dinner invite ;-)

Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot:

I already own several of her pieces and I wear them, um... all the time, hehe.  Thank you so much to the lovely Jordan for being our gorgeous brunette model - you rock!  Don't forget to visit Gina's online shop and check out her designs, a small selection of which can also be purchased at Noon Design Shop.

When I first moved to San Diego I was introduced to a wonderful organization called Shakti Rising from my friend Paige.  Shakti is a social change organization stewarding a new way of living.  Shakti views the current crises in women's health and safety, the environment, and the economy as absolutely interconnected.  For over a decade, Shakti has created a women- and child- friendly society by investing in women, whose personal transformation empowers them to become agents of change among their families, friends, and the entire community.

Shakti Rising is currently in the process of developing a case statement so potential donors can better understand the organization.  I was commissioned to provide imagery for the case statement that represents the organization's core values.  I took these photos at the Shakti house where a dedicated group of staff members work to educate community members and change the lives of the women living in the house.
