Imagine, if you will, a crisp sunny day in the fall of 1975. Dan opens the car door for his wife and a pair of newlyweds drives off in their brand new, shiny white classic Corvette for a hot date. Or, was it blue? According to Sue, the car has changed colors several times since they purchased it in the early seventies. But Dan has finally settled on cherry red, and after roughly 15 years of being "in the shop" (ie, their garage that serves as Dan's workshop) it's finally ready to be driven.

I first wandered into Noon Jewelry and Paper Goods on a lazy Sunday after heading to OB to catch the sunset. I love checking out cool graphic designers and unique jewelry, so this place was an instant favorite. I'm kinda lusting after this really neat hand made wood wine rack they have... so if you want to get me a present that's on my wish list :)
Noon makes custom wedding and event invitations and sells beautiful jewelry and hair accessories, so if you're getting married definitely check them out in OB or Solana Beach. This Friday they will be celebrating the second birthday of their Ocean Beach location so definitely stop by to say hello from 4 pm - 8 pm and see a few of these pretty pictures up in the shop!
Big thanks to Jessica from Noon for bringing the cool vintage props, Jolie Budau from Surface Aesthetics for doing the gorgeous makeup, and Sasha Clines for being a rockin' model!

I'd like to introduce the wonderful and talented Mrs. Jody Lumsden! Jody is a graphic and computer guru. And, she and her husband make their own wine... she designs the labels, of course! I haven't had the opportunity to try it yet though (hint, hint.) Jody just launched a new website for her graphic design business, JLumsden Graphics, and needed some photos of herself to put a pretty face to the name. We walked around Washington Ave and I love how it was so windy... reminds me of the old days working in a studio and using a fan for portraits! :) Anyways, here's the lovely Jody, and click on over to her site if you're in need of ads, logos, business cards, brochures, apparel design, and more!

Meet Jordan and her silky, chocolate-brown horse Kona. Jordan introduced me to Kona for the first time on a dusky evening at Poway Valley Stock Farm. He is so sweet. I think he liked having his picture taken :)

On the left is Kona's friend Rosie. I think horses were just designed to look good in sepia :)
Rosie again.

This one is just plain adorable!

Several months ago, I had a major blast from the past when I found out my childhood friend and swimming buddy Stephanie and I were going to be living near each other again after 12 years! I was super excited and couldn't wait to reconnect, meet her hubby and baby girl! Seeing Steph brought back tons of memories, like summer days spent at Drumlins, swim team pranks, being featured in the Syracuse newspaper with our sisters, and choreographing skits at Ithaca College swim camp. I dug up this old photo of us in matching outfits... apparently when I was 11 I owned multiple pairs of gingham shorts :)

It's amazing reconnecting with old friends on Facebook and seeing how much they've grown and changed. When Steph asked me to photograph her little family, I was delighted. We met on a Sunday afternoon in Oceanside and had a blast! Liesl is seriously one of the happiest babies I've ever met - she couldn't stop giggling! My camera loved her pretty blue eyes. Steph, it was such an honor to photograph your beautiful family! Now onto the images:

I had to include this last one of the beautiful sunset as we were leaving the beach. Completely un-edited, I swear :) I love southern California!
